Revelation

A revelation came to me disguised as a baby mouse. I was in awe of its cuteness as it scurried across the sidewalk…then it came towards me.

I started jumping about like I was in a crazy contest as the harmless being came towards my foot. Although it was trying to move under the fall leaves of a nearby bush, I assumed it was headed up my pants leg.

After I grabbed my heart and took a deep breath, I realized how everything is connected — you, me, the Birch trees, and the monarch butterflies that seem to appear out of thin air and float towards my face.

Beauty comes out of struggle, yet we turn our backs on it hoping for an easy path. I have grown to appreciate the difficulties because it connects the light and dark within, and between us in mysterious ways.

Divine winds changing
how my eyes perceive the world —
illusions released.
