It is almost winter here in the US. I hear fewer birds singing, flowers have withered, and most of the trees have shed their leaves. Mother Earth seemed to be indecisive about when the cold weather should roll in. I think she decided on today because I woke up to snow blanketing the city.
Oddly, I become more energized this time of year regardless of temperature. I was like this growing up in Texas. Right before the winter solstice I start clearing clutter and work three times as hard on projects. I get a lot done. This year hasn’t been different.
My acupuncturist once told me that humans are the only animals that don’t slow down during the winter. My spirit guides are encouraging me to balance resting, doing leisure activities, and working. This was the biggest lesson that I learned during the global quarantine.
I have written a lot in the last few months. Luckily, it was enough to slow down between December and February. I can spend more time doing nothing, having fun, and being present for clients. I’m also challenging myself to rest and focus on music for the next ninety days. Eek!
Are you slowing down during winter? Please share in the comments below.
I work harder when it is colder as I find it hard to be motivated during the hot summers.

I can see that. I guess that is the same for me as well.
